STATELINE, Nev. (AP)—Two suspected bank robbers were captured late Monday“during a manhunt in the snowswept Lake Tahoe resort“area for two men suspected of kidnaping Frank Sinatra Je, son of the famed entertainer, ‘the whereabouts of the 19- year-old night club singer re mained a mystery. But an FBI agent said the two arrested gun men, as well as four others seized with them, were held spe cifically in the bank holdup case. There was no reported link with Sinatra’s disappear ance. Meanwhile, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy telephoned from Wash ington and assured Frank Sinat ra Sr. that all resources of the Justice Department would work ‘on his missing son’s case, Sinat ra ‘Sr. flew to Reno from Palm Springs, Calif. to be near the hunt scene. The six men arrested were found in the Strawberry Lodge area, 20 miles west of the re sort where young Sinatra was reported seized Sunday night, FBI agents and sheriff's offi cers identified two of the six as Joseph James Sorce, 23, of Oak land, and Thomas Patrick Keat ing, of Riverside, Calif., wanted for an $8,300 holdup last month of a bank at Sherman Oaks, Calif. The other four were booked on charges of harboring Soree and Keating. Sheriff Ernest Carlson of Plac erville said the other four men were all from southern Califor nia, area of the bank holdup. Soree and Keating were viewed in a lineup by John Foss, who said he was in the room with Sinatra Jr. when the young singer was seized Sunday night just as he was about to go on stage at Harrah's Tahoe Casino. They also were viewed by Sinat ra Jr.'s manager, Tina Barzie. It was after this viewing that FBI agent Curtis 0. Lynan said force, Keating and the other four were being held specifical ly for the bank holdup. Foss said the younger Sinat ra, who is 19, was seized by two men who burst into their motel room and demanded: “Where's your money?” He said Sinatra had been called on the telephone in the room an hour earlier. Officers’ reported no word of” any ransom ‘demand, since the two gunmen hustled the young singer into the storm and left]: Foss bound and gagged on the floor, Tino Barzie, manager of] young Sinatra and the band with whom he was singing, said he had been authorized, by Frank Sinatra Sr. to stand by]: = at Harrah's south Lodge, scene of the abduction, for any’ con ‘tack word from” the Jadnapers. The elder Sinatra flew from, Palm Springs, Calif., to Reno, as soon as he was flashed the word of his son’s abduction. He went into seclusion at the Mapes Ho tel in Reno and kept in touch with developments from there. Sinatra Sr. announced three months ago he was divesting himself of Nevada gambling in terests estimated to be worth about $2.5 million. He pulled out after the Ne vada Gaming Control Board ac cused him of violating state regulations by entertaining Sam Giancana, a Chicago under world figure, at Sinatra’s Cal- Neva Lodge. The Cal -Neva is on Lake Tahoe's north shore in Nevada. Two FBE men visited Sinatra, $r., in his hotel room. When they left, they declined com ment. Harrah's South Lodge pro vides motel type quarters for the entertainers and staff of Harrah's Lake, Tahoe Casino. The motel is on the California side across a parking lot from the casino in Nevada. Young Sinatra had been stay ing there with members of the so-called ‘Tommy Dorsey band under the leadership of’ Sam Donahue.
