Mente and Bomb Material Found in His Room, New York.—A huge stock of highly explosive material was found in the apartment of Anton 8. Mente, a young Austrian, now being held by the police and suspected of having placed a liquid bomb on the steamer Kirkoswald, which was taken afire at sea. Enough explosives were found in the room to blow up the whole row of model tenements in which he boarded, _ ‘Aenea WUE? exhibits % shown in the accompanying phe ‘re are dynamite, electric batteries and fuses, and many acids and other chemicals used in the manufacture of high explosives. Various diaries were confis cated which are believed to contain formulae for the manufacture of bombs. A code book was also found. Others are implicated in notes found among the explosive materials.
