The Curling Club held its annual meeting last Thursday evening. The officers were appointed as fol lows: Hon. Pres., Dr. Roche; Pres, E. H. Glinz; 1st Vice-Pres., J. G. Barr; 2nd Vice-Pres., FE. Wankel; Sec.-Treas., J. McTavish; Skips: R. Thompson, A McAlpine, I. Glinz, J. McIntosh, A. Crerar and Dr. Kirk Chaplain, Rev. H. McCulloch. Two sheets of curling ice have been provided. At the school meeting on Mon day last almost every ratepayer was present and much interest was manifest in the question of the new school. The opinion was very general, almost unanimous, that the money obtained from the in surance, $6,400, would prove suffi cient to replace the building de stroyed by fire in October last as the foundation is still in good con dition. The secretary of the School Board was asked to prepare a balance sheet to show the actual standing of the S. D. in assets and liabilities, Dr. Kirk was appoint ed Trustee. J. McTavish was secretary and Rev. H. McCulloch chairman of the meeting. The evangelistic services in the Presbyterian church, began on Monday night. Dr. Gordon, (Ralph Conner) of Winnipeg, was the speaker and also conducted the singing. The church was crowded to the doors, many finding only standing room at the back, and some were not able to get in. The singing was most hearty and the spirit of the meeting all that could be desired. The people were very much in earnest and much good is expected to come to the whole community. Rev. F. J. Hartley of Roland will continue the services this week and part of next week.
