It deals with the adventurous voyage and queer climax of a Darling River Steamer. It is oxcellently illustrated by Mr. H. Wollaston. A very high-class article from the pen of Ethel Turner if called “ 80ME NOTABLE NONSENSE, and reviews in artistic fashion some of the books of humor over winch the world has smiled. Mr. John Arthur Barry, author of STEVE BROWN'S BUNYIP, lends a variety to the issue by his well-written talc, “WHEN KINDLY WINDS BEFRIENDED HER U deals with an old sailing .drip, aud in addition to being a true picture of tbo life of these vessels, it forms a sort of prose poem, so well is it written.“THREE ELEPHANT POWER, a Chauffeur's Story, is a humorous contribution by A.B.P., illustrated by Lionel Lindsay, and tells of the adventures of an Australian youth turned chauffeur, who developed a mania for spcod that led him into complicated troubles, ending up with a brush with an elephant attached to a travelling circus.The verse of the number is high-class, Mr. E. S. Sorenson contributor “GRANNY FROM THE COUNTRY much in the style of Will Carlctoi.’s farm ballads, but new in ideas and treatment. An operotta for children by Hclou Ashton is full of good songs.
