Fire, water and smoke did ex tensive damage to the frame dwell ing at 158 Kennedy St. last night. The house is occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Preston Cooley and family and is owned by Miss Ruth Dennis. Firemen from the Central Sta tion were summoned to the scene at 8:30 p.m. by telephone. It was two hours later before the firemen were able to return to their quar ters. The fire is said to have broken out in a book case in the attic. Upon arrival firemen found flames shooting out of the roof. Firemen had to lay some 600 feet of hose to get to the blaze to keep it from spreading. Water being poured on the flames seeped through to the other floors in the building doing considerable damage to the furniture and fur nishings. Much smoke damage was also reported. Bradford police assisted in di recting traffic at the scene by de touring motorists.
