Wm, Marea, of Garrett, Arraigned be*kfore ’Squire on Charge Preferred by Girl and Plead Not Guilty.ASKED FOE A POSTPONEMENT* -►♦Same Was Granted Until WednesdayMorning at 10 O’cloeluf\ *An affidavit was filed in ;?Squire Green’s court late Monday evening,Acharging William Marea, of ;lt;*arrett,with having used utterly obscene and*licentious language in the presence and hearing of Miss Zelma Cramer, a young lady of that city.The warrant for Marea was placed in the hands of Deputy Sheriff John Hoff, who made the arrest this morn* ing. Marea is the manager of theArlington hotel at Garrett and has a♦number of girls in his employ. Theaffidavit against him charges that hecommitted the misdemeanor Monday.■Mr. Marea appeared before ’Squire Green Tuesday afternoon and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge and petitioned the court for a postponement of the trial until Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock on account of his inability to have bis witnesses here today. Mr. Marea was very indignant over the fact that a case had been instituted against him and he Maimed in open court that he would show up the reputation of some of ihe parties instrumental in bringing the suit. The case was postponed : s prayed for, and the witnesses were re-subpoenaed, the defendant givingout the information that he^expects to fight the case to the bitter end.
