©bituaMfisGlenn C. Pirie dies funeral services todayGlenn C. Pirie, 65, died unexpectedly Monday of an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were to be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Hitchcock-Smith Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Donald Sondrol was officiating pastor. Burial was in the Laurens Cemetery with Hitchcock-Smith Funeral Home in charge.Pallbearers are E. J. Kees, Garth Hopkins, Mark Kyle, La wo Sorensen, Joe Miller and Lloyd Wile.Glen C. Pirie, the son of Henry and Jessie Crouch Pirie, was born July 9, 1912 at Paton. His mother died shortly after childbirth and he lived with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pharis Crouch at Mallard and graduated from high school there. He married Alice Anderson of Laurens at Fairmont, Minn., Nov. 3,1934. They were the parents of a daughter, Elenore. After marriage they lived at Plover for several years before moving to Laurens. He was employed with M. J. R. Hakes for 29 years.Survivors are his wife, Alice, and daughter, Elenore Gist, two granddaughters, Mrs. Dean Conrad, Spencer, and Susan Gist, Laurens. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
