By BOB HENTZEN Big Gary White awed an over flow house at the Midwest City gymnasium by pitching in 43 points to lead the Bombers past Shawnee, 64-47, Friday night. The 6-5 senior pulled the trig ger 31 times from the field and found the bullseye on 21 of the shots. White hooked right, hooked left, fired one-handed from out side, threw up jump shots from all over, tipped and even had a couple of easy layins. Through one stretch in the sec ond and part of the third quar ter, White swished the ball through the goal on 10 straight attempts. Hansen Hits 11 Shawnee center Larry Dibler, a 6-3 senior, and various help ers who were continually check ing off on the 1-3-1 zone, couldn't stop White from throwing the ball up, and when it went up it usually was in. Coach John Pratt's Bombers enjoyed a phenominal 52 percent shooting average with 28 of 54. The other eight Bombers who got in the game took only 20 shots, hitting seven. Strangely White could connect on only one of six from the char ity line, perhaps leaving Shaw nee wishing it had changed strat egy and not even tried to de fense him. Willie Hanlon tallied most of the rest of Midwest City’s points, bagging 11 with eight of those coming in the first half. Fourth Shawnee Loss Shawnee, now winless in four starts, didn’t do too badly in the shooting department itself, down ing 17 of 50 pokes from the floor. But coach Jerrell Chesney’ s club never really was in con tention after the opening mo ments when White started shoot ing up a storm. BHAWNEE (47)
