Gypsies Rob Farmer.A band of Gypsies numbering probably 30, including children, was camped last week on (lie Rham-Chcraw road on the Tom Homo place, about 3 miles from Rockingham. On Thursday of last week Alec Purhcalth, of the Osborne section, passed by the camp and was stopped by a number of the campers. One, a girl, pursuaded him to show her his money, to amount of •it 106. He became uneasy and demanded his money back. She bulled him hack 866, and upon her refusal to return the balance, he came to town and got out a warrant against her. Sheriff McDouuld went with him to the camp, and after some conversation Alec and the Gypsy band sen let I the mailer by returning to him 825. They claimed this was nil that was gotten from him. Rather than go into a trial, etc., Alec agreed lo take what was offered and drop the matter.The outfit with its tilth and dirt broke comp m \t day and wondered I cn award.
