The directors, elected at the meeting held Saturday night, are as follows:Jay Fulbright, A. Cl. Flowers, E. E. Nettleship, W. J. Reynolds, B. F. Campbell, Ellis Duncan, Mack Morton,Art Lewis, I. (J. Combs, J. V. Walker,F. F. Borden, J. F. Backstrom, W. L. Moore, Allen Davis, W. H. Morton, Carl Ownbey, W. H. Mock.Officers will he elected and commit tees appointed at the first meeting of the new Board.At the meeting of officers and stock, holders of the Association held Sat-111 day night, plans were made for making the next fair “bigger, better and broader in scope than any pro vious fair. In order to do this it was voted that the Board he authorized to dispose of lt;*00 shares of stock, money derived from the sale to be devoted to making such improvements on the Fair (Bounds as the Board may deem necessary. The resolution in full was as follows:Whereas, The Washington County Fair Association was originally or I ganized for the purpose of encourag I ing and fo teiing the development of agriculture, horticulture, home eco j nomics and stock raising in Northwest Arkansas; andWhereas, The Association has held , thirteen successful expositions, dur- .s/j ing which time a steady and healthy j development of the varied interests ; prlt; of the county has been revealed in the j of character, quantity and quality of the » xhibits that have been placed on display at each succeeding fair; and Whereas, The Annual Washington ( ounty Fair has come to be the one big annual gathering of the people of this section of the State; andWhereas, We, the stockholders of the Washington County Fair Association in annual meeting assembled are convinced that the work of the As sociation should lie extended, broad ened and perpetuated, and that this may be accomplished, it is necessary that our grounds and buildings be repaired, improved and enlarged. Therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the Board of Directors be authorized and instructed to take such steps as are necessary to dispose of any part of 000 shares of stock, such addtiona) stock to he tirSt offered to stockholders on a pro rata basis of* their present holdings.
