Russell Weaver was re cently honored at a dinner for 35 years’ service. He was presented with a gold pin by postmaster Jane Sturgin, along with a letter of appreciation from William Dunn, USPS Erie District manager. Along with his wife Marilyn, family and friends attended to offer congratulations to Rus sell. Weaver began his service with four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was appointed postmas ter at the Jackson Center Post Office in 1963. In 1976, he transferred to the rural carrier position he now holds. He travels over 60 rural miles in his postal Jeep mak ing 456 stops daily delivering letters and parcels to his cus tomers. Russell enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.
