Dec. 4+,— Mrs. J. R. Jones and Mrs. J. W. Gilmore spent Saturday with Mrs. H. G. Cooper, of Bullitt county. Mr. Meffert, of Shelby county visit ed Mr. Barl Helm this week, Mr. and Mrs.J. B. McDowell and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Saunders spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Clay Mc Dowell, Jackson and John Emory Kennedy, of near Jeffersontown, spent the Thanksgiving holidays with their aunt, Mrs. John Gilmore. Dr. C. L. Cooper and son returned Saturday from a hunting trip to Vine Grove and visited Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Cowley while there. Quite a number of relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. Wash Gilmore Monday, Dec. 4, to celebrate the birthday anniversary of his oldest daughter, Mrs. C. L. Cooper. This is an annual gather ing of this family and everyone is looked forward to with more pleas ure. Quite a sumptuous 12 o'clock dinner was served to the large crowd present and many happy re turns of the day is wished for. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Gilmore, Mr. and Mrs.J. C. Cawley, of Vine Grove, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Gilmore, of Louis ville, and Mr. G. Wash. Gilmore were guests at dinner Sunday of the latter's daughter, Mrs. C. L. Cooper, Dr. D. A. Bates spent several days the past week hunting in Spencer county and was the guest of J. W. Kennedy. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Bennett and Misses Kirtie Bennett, of Louisville, were guests of Mrs. J. KR. Jones Thanksgiving day. Miss Bess Osborne, of Louisville, was a guest of the Misses Ireland this week. Mrs. Nettie M. Frederick spent Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Mills. Bro. Don Carlos Jones, of the Highlands, preached two able dis courses at F. St. church Sunday.
