A DOUBLE KILLING.DEED OF JAMES H. CHAMBERS, OF WEST VIRGINIA.(By Telegraph to VlrghUaii-Pilot) Panther, W. Ya„ Dee. G.—Dr. Thompson, of Williamsport, Pa., and Adam Bailey, of this place, were shot and instantly killed last night by James11. Chambers, a prominent merchant of this place. The tragedy was one of Hie bloodiest that has oecutred lu this section lor a long time. Dr. Thompson came hero Horn Williamsport several mon I hi; ago as surgeon for tho Punt her Dumber Company. Recently lit* decided to leave town and return to Williamsport, lie sold a portion of his furniture to Mr. Chambers. While (hey were sell ling the deal last night he and Chambers engaged In an argument, and dually came to blows, when Chmnbers ordered the doctor to leave Ida store. Chambers without rising from his chair llred. The doctor fell, but rose quickly, however, and sprung mil n[ the doorway, shooting back over his shoulder.
