‘Thursday at 10 ama group of local residents numbering 186 officially filed all required. and final papers for a new Bank Trust Company. The final pa pers required for filing were given Lake County number one in Tallahassee. The new bank is requested to be known as Triangle Bank and Trust Company at Mount Dora. Applications by the group for Federal Deposit Insurance has also been filed in Atlanta, Ga. Local interest for a new bank is indicated by the large number of local residents who have sub scribed for ateck and the sworn subscriptions presented to the State Banking Commissioners. Subscribers include bankers, lawyers, doctors,, muck farmers, citrus growers, merchants, sales men,real estate brokers, and others. Subscribers to “the “proposed Triangle Bank and Trust Com pany are from Mount Dora, Eus tis, Tavares, Umatilla, Altoona, Sorrento, Zellwood, Howey-in the-Hill, Astatula, Lake Jem, Tangerine, Cassia and Leesburg. No one person was permited to subscribe to more than 5 per cent of the stock of the Bank. It will be. @ locally-owned bank. The new bank is to be located at the eastside of the Golden Triangle Shopping Center. The architects are Saxelbye and Powell, Jacksonville. Agreements with the owners of the vast Golden Triangle Shopping Center will provide the.1400 free parking spaces also to be used ‘by. bank. patrons. Dora, plans to be president. ‘of. the bank.Mr. Chaffee. comes from Ashtabula, Ohio. He entered banking in’ 1935 and has served as a vice president and presi dent of banks since 1943. Since 1955, Mr. Chaffee has been. with “The Farmers Na tional. Bank and Trust. Company of. Ashtabula, Ohio. The bank has assets of over 34 million dol lars. ° Tt. operates six branch banks. After the war, Mr. Adams was with the Bank of Tavares until 1962. Mr. Adams was vice presi dent and comptroller at the Bank of Tavares, in 1962, when he left to help organize the First State Bank of Lutz... Florida... He watched the building of the new bank being built and assisted in selecting and installing equip ment. When the bank opened, Mr... Adams was executive’ vice president and he leaves that po sition to join the new proposed Trangle Bank and Trust Com pany at Mount Dora. Mr. Adams is well ‘known ‘throughout Lake County. Mr. Micheal has served as as sistant Banking Commissioner, State of Maryland, ‘and as vice president and trust officer of a chain of banks.
