Bertrand Russell Addresses Faculty at Informal TeaA delightfully informal tea for the noted philosopher, Bertrand Russell, was given by Dean MacDonald and Dean Park in the Women’s Lounge, Wednesday afternoon, November 2fi. Members of the faculty and their wives, and upperclassmen who were interested, attended. It was a rare treat to be allowed to meet such a world-famous man as Bertrand Russell, and later to join in the informal discussion of the nursery school which was established for the children of Dr. Russell and some of his friends. No school was found to fit Bertrand Russell*s ideas of educational needs. He, therefore, set about making one. In his charming clipped English accent, Dr. Russell talked of the conditions and developments of the school, meanwhile smoking a long black pipe. Dean MacDonald and Dean Park are to be greatly thanked for bringing to the students the opportunity of conversation with such an interesting figure of modern philosophy.Those who attended the tea will undoubtedly be interested in the fact .that Bertrand Russell, in talking to Dean Park, stated that he enjoyed the tea very much and thought the students asked very apt questions.
