There is a stipulation in connection with the Rift, however, thut may not be pleasant to the donor. The letter of acceptance says that the site for the proposed library will be obtained, the $2,600 pledged annually to Itssupport, according to requirements, and that the building will be known as “The El wood Public Library.'* As it is ous to Diary for cities receiving such gifts to name the library after the iron magnate it is not known how this action will be received. It Is said that the name was chosen to placate some of the labor unions that r;« opposed to accepting money from Carnegie.
