The election throughout the State was one of the most peaceable and orderly ever held in this or any other State. Not even the usual number of bloody noses and damaged eyes are reported. There is but one serious affray reported, and this was in the Republican parish of St. Martin and among Republicans exclusively. Even this did not occur until yesterday, after the election was over and the count completed, when Emile De-tiegc, one of the Republican candidates for sheriff, shot down and killed two sons of his competitor, Dela-houssaye. From the telegraphic reports we publish this morning it ap-pcarf$i have been a cold-blooded affair. It may readily be supposed that much excitement was occasioned, and that there are apprehensions of further trouble should Dctiege be captured.—-V. 0. Democrat.
