The wholc^f am ijy of llic deceased— six in number—'were at tine time down with this dread disease,dcatb taking asray a daogh-tcr only a short time before, while the wife, at last accounts, was lying in a critical condition. Col, MeGfannhan was in his 57th year at the time of his death, having acquired liis title of Colonel in the old militia days. He nlso represented Mercer county in the Legislature during the session of 1852*53.
