Findlay High School's wrestlers rolled up a 34-0 lead, dominating the light and middleweight classes, then hung on as Bellevue’s heavyweights took charge, and beat the Redman 40-21. The Trojans won the first seven mat ches, highlighted by pins from Steve Smith at the 98-pound weight class in 5:33, Lee Smith at the 112 class in 1:17, Chip Frey in the 126 pound class in 3:00, and a superior decision by Jon Redman at the 119 class, 17-4. Gary Yoder won by disqualification at 105, and Tim Geoghegan and Steve Rettig recorded back-to-back decisions at 132 and 1138. Geoghegan handled his opponent 7-4, and Rettig doubled his man, 6-3. Dan Zontreras ended the Trojans’ reign with a pin over Findlay's Wayne Eaton in the 145 class in 57 seconds. Findlay’s Bruce Heater followed with a convincing 10-3 victory over P.J. O’Lynn in the 155 class, then Bellevue won three of the last four matches. Jeff Laub pinned Findlay's Tim Thomas in 3:36 of the 167 bout, and Dave Zontreras repeated that feat with a pin in 5:47 over the Trojan’s Randy Smaltz in the 175 en counter. Hank Kramer posted the Trojan’ s final win with a 7-2 decision over the Redman’s Ted Angel in the 185 match. The final match of the night saw Bellevue’s Tom Bollingbauch whip Walter Schramm 7-3 in the heavyweight tussle. 98—Sites (F) pinned Anderson, 5:33. 105— Yoder (F) won by disc. over Czeczele. 112—Smith (F) pinned Mallet, 1:17. 119—Redmen (F) dec.
