AAA Payments Totalling Near ly $200,000 Being Distribut ed This Week to 900 Signers. St. Paul, Dec. 5.—Adjusted pay ments totaling about $200,000 are being distributed this week to 900 signers of the 1934-36 sugar beet production adjustment contract in five Minnesota counties and nine Iowa counties tributary to the Ma son City, Iowa, sugar beet factory. W. A. Peters, assistant state ad ministrator of production control programs, University Farm, St. Paul, announced today. The receipt of these payments marks the beginning of an influx of about $725,000 in final 1934 and advance 1935 payments to 2,500 Minnesota, Iowa and North Dakota growers under their sugar beet pro duction adjustment contracts. Of this amount, about $500,000 will be distributed to 1,740 farmers in 22 Minnesota counties, $110,000 to 317 farmers in six counties of eastern North Dakota, and $100,000 to 471 farmers in nine counties of north ern Iowa. These payments will increase to about $1,350,000 the aggregate val ue of all sugar beet adjustment payments made to these farmers by the Agricultural Adjustment ad ministration since 1934. Minneso ta’s share of these payments has totaled about $940,000; Iowa’s about $200,000; and North Dakota's about $215,000. Although the sugar beet produc tion adjustment program is a mi nor program in Minnesota from the standpoint of the number of farm ers and the acreage involved, it has paid the participating farmers larger average benefit checks per farm than any other agricultural adjustment program, Mr. Peters says,
