BASKETBALLLast night one of the best exhibitions ^of; basketball everiWnio^^C^mbert' -’of '^Commerce basketball team against the St. Louis All-Star Girls traveling team with the locals winning 38 to 11.The score doesn’t indicate how close or well played the game was. The girls put a team on the floor thpt would be tough opposition for most independent teams but was just outclassed by the passing and ball handling of the local five, who jumped into an early lead and held it all the way At the end of the first quarter with Peterson, local forward, dropping in four baskets the local team was ahead 10 to 2 before the half was over with. A. Deim, Tangamen and Bennett finding the hoop consistently the locals were out ahead 22 to 5 and increased' their lead at the 3rd quarter mark to 33 to 9. Most of the fourth quarter the locals played to develop their passing game and a number of times when they had chances to shoot for baskets they would pass up the chance to fire the ball to one of their teammates. With the brand of basketball displayed by the locals last night the people of jEsthevville should get behind them and support them so they can go to the A, A. U. tournament next spring. The next game is next Tuesday night against the House of David.Lineup:Estherville All-StarPeterson F TaylorTaqgnmen F BenichBennett C McQueenA. Deim G v MartinG.
