H. CRAVENS TOBE KW POSTMASTEREditor of Uorld'Courier To Succeed Bradfute.When the new postofficc is opened on March 4, there will be a new postmaster in the chair.- This man will be Oscar H. Cravens, publisher of the Woild* Courier. Since the election there have been several contestants in tnhc fight for the appointment among whom were; Lcn S. Field, Mayor John O. Harris, Au'y. John O’Donnell, W. P. Dill, H. J. Feltus, Att’y. Thomas J. Sare and Oscar H. Cravens. Each man with the assistance of his friends has been making a lively fight for the office and during the latter part of last week Mr. Cravens received a communication from Congressman W. A. Cullop saying that he would be recommended for the office. This came as a pleasing surprise to the general public, as Mr. Cravens is known to be a capable man, fitted in every way to take care of the duties of postmaster.Walter Bradfute, the present postmaster, is editor of The Bloomington Telephone. Mr. Bradfute in a late issue of the Telephone congratulated Mr. Cravens on his success in the race and offered him any aid within his power as the reti ing postmaster. Cha6. H. Springer, a well-known citizen of Bloomington, has been selected as the deputy-post-master, and Homer Hinkle as custodian. The former has been connected with the law firm of Sarc and Springer for several years, and also is the present secretary of the Commercial Club.
