Her non-appearance, it has transpired, is due to a most remark able cau se. Fagers-kiold rec eived an anonymous letter requesting her to meet a person at a certain place at. night, as the person had some important connnuiiication to .take. She went, followed. at a distance by two friends, andwas met by some person, who assaulted, stabbed, and mined her. When her friends came up _ found she was badly hurt, and she was removed to her home, where-it was ascertained she had sustained sixteen knifewounds.
