Installing new TV tower to cut off two channelsTwo television channels which carry KTSC Channel 8 into central Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor area and Manitou Springs will go off the air today through Tuesday while the station installs a new translator tower on top of Cheyenne Mountain.Channel 21 in Colorado Springs and Channel 7 in Manitou Springs are the only channels affected by the move, said Tom Aube, KTSC chief engineer.Viewers who receive KTSC on Channel 8 and cable customerswill not be affected in any way, Aube said. When the new translator tower is in place on Tuesday, Channel 21 will beeliminated and Colorado Springs residents will receive KTSC on Channel 53. Manitou Springs residents will continue to receive the station on Channel 7.Installation of the translator on Cheyenne Mountain will improve the station’s signal throughout Colorado Springs, ending the poor reception in some areas of the city, Aube said.
