S.To Probe HitleritesCLEVELAND (WNS)—A petition containing thousands of signatures and asking for an investigation of Nazi activities in Cleveland was forwarded this week to the La Follette Civil Liberties Committee by the local chapter of the American League Against War and Fascism.Backed by the Cleveland League for Human Rights Against Nazism ana liberal groups, the petition is an outgrowth of the recent Nazi rally here which was held over wide protests, including a resolution adopted by the Cleveland city council.Among the speakers at the rally was Fritz Kuhn, U. S. Nazi fuehrer.Particular indignation was aroused by the fact that Prof. Hugo Karl Polt of Western Reserve gave the Nazi salute at the meeting where the notorious Horst Wessel song was sung. The meeting was picketed by members of C. 1. O. unions.
