OZEMAN, Dec. 2.—The mar riage of Miss Lucy McDonnell and John Edward Schwab, both of this city, was solemn ized at the Holy Rosary Catholic church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morn ing in the presence of relatives and intimate friends of the bride and groom, the Rev. Father A. D. Leitham officiating at a nuptial mass. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Elizabeth McDonnell, while her brother Charles McDonnell was best man. After the ceremony, the bridal party went to the new home of the bride and groom at 315 Bozeman avenue south, where a wedding break fast had been prepared by the bride's sister, Miks Rose McDonnell and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Steve McDonnell. There were 16 relatives seated at the table and the breakfast was enjoyed by all. The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mike McDonnell, who lived for some time on the Madison and later in Bozeman. She spent part of the time at the ranch, but the greater part of her life has been spent in Bozeman, where she lived for a short time with her uncle, the late John McDonnell, a well-known Galla tin pioneer. For the past three years she has been employed in Phillips’ book store. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Schwab of Port land, Ore. He came to Montana from Washington with his parents about eight years ago and they lived for five years at White Sulphur Springs, moving to the Gallatin valley three years ago, the parents moving recent ly to Oregon The bride and groom will not take any wedding trip, but have gone right to housekeeping. The coests from out of the city who were present at the wedding and the breakfast were: Mr. and Mrs. Steve McDonnell of Logan, Miss Elizabeth McDonnell of Livingston, Miss Rose McDonnell of Rodersburg. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Kinsella of Aberdeen, C., former residents of this city, are visiting their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James Kiefer in Bozeman. Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Hurst and baby went to Butte to spend Thanksgiving with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Parker of Big Timber came to Bozeman Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving with Mrs. Parker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. . Combs. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Durston have re turned to Butte after visiting their daughter Mrs. John Maxey and family in Bozeman. The marriage of Mrs. Mabel Mac Leod and ER. J. S. Moore, both of this city, which took place last Sunday in Butte, is of interest not only to the friends of the bride and groom in Bozeman and vicinity but to many friends in other parts of Montana, as the bride lived in Billings in her girl hood days, being a daughter of Mrs M. A. Gordon of that city, now in Cal ifornia. After graduating from the state normal college in Dillon, she taught for a time in Billings, before coming to Bozeman, where she has lived for several years and is con ducting most successfully at private kindergarten. The groom is a mem ber of a well-known pioneer family, a son of James H. Moore and the late Mrs. Belle Brown Moore of Hast Gal latin. He is a graduate of Montana state college and took post graduate work in an eastern college. He is en gaged in farming and in the insurance business. His father and his sisters, Mrs. Butle Jones and Mrs. Francis Burke, who were on the way to the home of the daughters in Placerville, Cal., were present at the wedding in Butte. The bride and groom spent two days on a wedding trip in the state, and on Wednesday went to the farm home of the groom's father, where they were joined on Thanks giving day by the bride's son, Edgar MacLeod, a student at Montana state college, and by George H. Russell and family of Bozeman, who had Thanks giving dinner with them at the ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Moore expect to return Sunday to Bozeman to make their home. Mrs. C. W. Haskins, who has been spending a few months on her fruit farm near Bellingham, Wash., and visiting her children in Bellingham, Spokane and at Galen, Mont., re turned Tuesday to Bozeman, her for mer home, to spend a few months with her son, F. H. Haskins and his family, and with friinds here. Miss Florence Gray, who is teach ing in the high school at Anaconda, arrived home early Thursday morning to spend the Thanksgiving vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. 0. J. Gray. She expects to return to Ana conda Sunday. The Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity had a party Saturday afternoon at the home of Miss Helen Waite for the alumnae and pledges. It was an in formal but pleasant affair and Nght refreshments were served. Saturday evening the Alpha O girls had open house at their chapter house for all college students and for the visiting delegates to the vocational congress. Mrs. W .N. Purdy and Ed Bunney contributed vocal duets and George Scotten vocal solos that were much enjoyed. Light refreshments were served. Miss Florence Dean entertained at her home Saturday afternoon from 5 to 6 o'clock for the following girls, who were here for the vocational con gress Miss Beulah Aiken, Miss Fil nora Wolverton and Miss Ida Flaherty of Whitehall, Miss Elizabeth Collins and Miss Verena Kesler of Manhattan, Miss Rose Stockweather of Townsend, Miss Vera Bartz and Miss Marguerite Schnell of Bozeman, Music, dancing and dainty refreshments were greatly enjoyed by the visitors and local girls. The junior Thanksgiving dance at the high school auditorium Saturday evening was a decided success. The decorations were appropriate to the season and the spotlight from the stage was an attractive feature. Excellent music was provided by the college orchestra, and the proceeds were about $40. The dance Saturday afternoon for the visiting high school girls was a very pleasant affair. The Gallatin county high school girls served tea, and an excellent three-piece orchestra furnished music, Joseph B. Davis and Ethel A. Brownell, both of Belgrade, were mar ried by Judge B. B. Law in the judge's chambers. Monday afternoon, Miss Mary Cain gave a kitchen shower at her home Monday evening for Miss Lucy McDonnell, about 40 friends of the bride-to-be being the guests, Miss McDonnell received many useful gifts. The evening was spent socially and with refreshments. Mrs. E. Broox Martin, state regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, left Sunday evening for Helena, where she represented that organization in a meeting of the Wom en's Legislative council. From Helena she planned to go to Great Falls to spend Thanksgiving with Ransom Cooper and family, and she will make her official visit to the D. A. R. chap ters in Helena and Great Falls before returning home. Mrs. Everett Cutting entertained at a pleasing dinner party at Kramer's cafe Monday evening, complimentary to Miss Grace Accola, who is soon to be a bride. After dinner the guests accompanied Mrs. Cutting to her home, where they spent the rest of the evening with bridge. Those pres ent besides the honor guest and the hostess were Mrs. Chester Beecher, Mrs. John Langohr, Mrs. Nieson Story III., Mrs. Herman Willson, Miss Olive Ennis and Mise Merle Myers.
