Another man-drew a knife and advanced towards Proprietor Kellywhoso hand was severely gashed five or six times. One of the cuts severed the leader in the back of his hand.As the other two men came towards' him, Kelly picked up a* 32-calibre revolver from a shelf and shot one of them in the forehead. The injured man ran from the cafe and hurried, down the Katy track. ''One of Mr. Wood’s clerks named Scott came upon the scene at this juncture and felled one of the would-be high*Waymen, \Uncle Dick McStravick, of the city police force, was soon upon the ground end arrested the two men. Tho prisoners were arragned in police court * this morning and were fined .$25 and costs, which they paid. The men gave their names as Jim Riley, a machinist, and Joe Me Carty, a painter, and are said to liveIn Muskogee;It Is said that a gang of eight or nine fellows constantly looking for trouble, have been living at the Kentucky Home, a second class ho-te^, at the corner of Okmulgee and Cherokee streets.
