Chill.At a recent date your correspondent visited Mr, Joseph Madison, for the special purpose of learning something in regard to his progress In the culture of fish; and he can say that those who visit the place, and even passers-by are struck with amazement at the completeness in which he tus ponded his garth and_ the enterprise shown thereby. It is but a short time since he began this work and. his place is now characteristic of six dams skillfully constructed, and conveniently arranged, showing marks of wisdom and understanding in fish eulture, and covering about one and one half acre. His ponds are, however, not all stocked but will be in a few months hence At present about 5000 fish inhabit his ponds ranging from three to twenty inches in length and proportioned accordingly. He kedps in stock no other than the carp which is said, by fish managers, fish tunsts and scientists to be the best species that the mighty waters afford.
