freed of the fleet, of the invaders, and the blockade effectually raised; be it, therefore, !Resolved by the Common Council of the city Q of New Orleans, That the sum of $600,000 be, and the same is hereby, appropriated towards the building and construction of vessels similar to the Manassas, and iron-plated ships: Provided. The sum of at least $100,000 shall be subscribed for and paid in by the merchants, shippers, and others in this city interested in having the said blockade raised and our ports opened to commerce.KENTUCKY LEGISLATURE.
