Aaron, Maye'Good Fellers'Henry Louis Aaron and Arthur Lee Maye have been added to the list of top sports personalities who will be on hand for this year’s annual Good Fellers Dinner at Dania Hall on Dec. 15.Every baseball man knows who these two are, but for the benefit of anyone else—Hank Aaron is a Milwaukee Braves outfielder generally considered one of today’s greatest hitters and Maye is another Braves outfielder who played his first game with the club in 1959, then went down to Louisville for part of 1960 before returning for the rest of that year, 1961 and 1962.Proceeds for Kids Proceeds of the Good Fellers Dinner are used annually to purchase toys and other items for Racine children who would not otherwise receive Christmas presents.Aaron and Maye join Cecil Isbell, one of the Green Bay Packers all-time passing stars, and Joel H o r 1 e n, Chicago White Sox hurler, on the Good Fellers guest list.Aaron was named the National League’s most valuable player in 1957. He has been on the National League All-Star team eight straight years and in two World Series battered New York Yankee pitching for averages of .393 and ,333.He has led the league in total bases five times; batting average, runs batted in, hits and doubles twice; home runs, slugging percentage and runs scored once each.Best in 1959 Aaron had his best year in 1959 when he hit .355 including 39 home runs. He consistently hits well above .300.Maye may become as famous as a singer as he is as a ball player. He has entertained many audiences in.the area since the baseball season ended and has hopes of becoming a recording artist.Maya began his baseball career in 1954 with| Boise andHANK AARONLEE MAYEclimbed steadily through the minor league ranks to Evansville, Eau Claire, Yakima, Evansville, Jacksonville, Austin, Wichita and Louisville before making it in fthe imion.
