Kingston his parents having died when he was quite young.Mr. Griffith enlisted in Co. I, sfrd Regiment Wisconsin Cavalry Nov. 18, 1861, at Kingston, Wis., serving until the close of the war.He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Harden at Dewitt, Clinton count}', Iowa, where they resided until 18.79, then removing to Greene county, and later in 1884 I became residents of Bayard. Besides his faithful- wife, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Mao Love of Pocahontas, arc left to mourn his loss. He was a kind husband, obliging neighbor and good citizen, and will be greatly missed by lus relatives and many friends.Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church by Rev. \\ right 1 hursday afternoon at 2o’clock. A large number of friendsand quite a few of the old soldier hoys gathered to pay their fast respects to the departed friend and comrade. 1 he pall bearers were: G. P. Russell, Al Carrick, J. W. Cornish, Jacob Shawd, D. Yader and Jerry Dcwan, all veterans of the Civil War. Interment was made in Highland cemetery.
