The Man with the WheelbarrowCapt, Lyman Potter, the “man with the wheelbarrow,” is at Westham, about live miles above Richmond, with bis wheelbarrow, having rolled it from California. lie has with him many rare collections which he picked up on his journey across the continent. About April 1, 1878, Capt. Potter left Albany, N. Y., with a bran new wheelbarrow. lie journeyed through the various States between the Atlantic and Pacific north of South Carolina, rolling it wherever he went. Whenever he filled his wheelbarrow with collections which he gathered on his way, he boxed them up aud shipped them to Albany, his home. The wheelbarrow shows unmistakable evidence of having been pushed or drawn many hundreds of miles. The spokes in the wheel are held together with cords, and the iron taps on Capt. Potter’s shoeheels have worn down to about a thousandth part of an inch.
