McCoy, who reported for the consideration of tbs meeting, | ™ the following Preamble and Resolutions which after due consideration and discussion 1 ofmGi•nBtowere one by one unanimously adopted.— *jj Whereas it is evident that tht wants of a verjiiflarge section of country as well as the bestin'erestof the Cincinnati and Indianapolis | R. R. demand a switch where said road crosses the Napoleon tad, in order to secure the freight and accommodate passengers from the north-eastern part of Decatur, and south eastern part of Rush couties. In as much also as the advantage of the R. R. arising from the certainty of a 6witch at that point was the prime argument, used by the agents of saidroad to secu'e the right of way through Hugh's and McCoy’s lands, upon the strength of which promises McCoy has erected Stock scales and Hughs a Ware-ho use. Considering also the (act that the neighborhood generously offer to do all the necessary labor ioconstructing of said switch, we therefore:1st. Resolved, That in onr opinion the Directors and Superintendent of the abovr* named road are under the strongest possibleobligation to locats s switch at tbs point above mentioned.2nd. Resolved, That as wa are credibly informed that there are one or more switches now on ths road in the neighborhood of Tanners creek no longer needed there, we herein respectfully petition the'Superintendent of said road to immediately appropriate he material of 6uch switch, or furnish new material for one at the point named in the foregoing Preamble.3rd. Resolved that should the Superintends t entertain any doubts as to the locating of said switch being both proper and profitable, we herein not only promise to grade the ground and lay the track, but also to donate to the Co. the several sums appended to our names, provided the Co. are unwilling to in c ir the necessary expense.4th. Resolved, That as Joseph 6. Monfort is the only Director on the East end of the road, who has not already solicited the Superinten dent to locate said Switch, and is known to oppcse the same, we have good reason to sus-pe-jt him of being actuated by selfish motive*; of eudeavoting to force trade from its natural point on the R. R.; there by obliging the citizens of a large section of country, to drive their stock and liaul their produce an unner-e?‘ary distance over bad roads.5th. Resolved, That we appoint a Committee of two, to wait upon Joseph G, Moufor*,for the purpose of obtaing his name to the foregoing'Preamble and first Resolutions,an l if so obtained; that they withold frrmI I ^1 j publication all Resolutions reflecting upon j him; but if not obtained, that they publish the entire proceeding of their meeting, in the 1 ca*ur Press and forward a copy of the same 1 to the President and Superintendent of the {Indianapolis and Cincihnati R.
