J. FRANK JOHNSTONMAKES ASSIGNMENTThe latter part of the last week Mr. J. Frank Johnston, one of the best known farmers in this scetion of the state, made an assignment and his son-in-law Stephen Baker, was appointed assignee.-Mr. Johnston was one of our largest land owners, having in his pos session about 400 acres of good land, and while his indebtedness is very heavy it is thought his creditors will be paid.Mr. Johnston has made cattle and other livestock buying and selling his principa’ business and for the past two or three years a large amount of money has been lost in all parts of the country in this business, and no doubt the cause for Mr. Johnston's crisis has been his losses on livestock.Mr. j illusion is out of town at present, but his friends are hopeful1 of his return to Otterbein, and as-j sist in making settlement of all ; claims.
