Portville. Mrs. Geo. W. Gibby, of Ellicott ville N. Y., is in town the guest of her parents Mr. and Mrs. David Per sing. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hall are hap py over another addition to their family in the way of an eight pound boy. Prof. Shattuck’s orchestra furnished music for the dance at the opera house Tuesday evening. All had a good time and spent the evening very pleasantly as usual. Mr. Chas. L. Bedford, of the Olean post office was in town last week the guest of his parents. Wm. Truesdell formerly of this place now of Rochester, was upon our streets this week, shaking hands with his many friends. Henry Labar, of Coudersport, Pa., is in town the guest of friends, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Tyler returned Friday evening from East Hickory, Pa., where they were visiting rela tives several days last week. Geo. Doane formerly in business, at this place, now a prominent merchant in Coudersport, was home on a short visit last week. Miss Minnie Middaugh, returned home Saturday from Duke Center where she was visiting for several days. The young men’s society of Port ville, have secured the services of the Harvard college quarters, to give an entertainment at the Presbyterian church on Thursday evening Dec. Std.
