merits made.Death of “Father Havens. Rev. James Havens died at his residence in Rushville, Ind., on Frida}’evening, November 4, 1864, aged overseventy j’ears. He was among the most noted pioneer Methodist preachers of the West. He was uneducatedand of no very remarkable intellectual powers, but made his mark by his indomitable energy and determination. In short he was of the Andrew Jackson type of man, and resembled him both in annearance and character.
