Manitou held a slim 2 shot lead over Pilot Mound and 7 on Treherne. Once the dust settled and the beverages consumed, Pilot Mound had taken the lead.The lead was 12 shots over Manitou and 16 over Treherne. Was this lead big enough to hold up when the match moved to Manitou in August? Closest to the Pin was Mark Falks and he won $59.00.Now came the final match in Manitou, with 52 golfersparticipating. You could feel the tension in the air. Had Manitou brought their A-game? Did Pilot Mound bring the right golfers? Had Treherne mixed it up enough to make the comeback of the year? This all played out over the next 2 and a half hours. Personally I did not think that Manitou could make up what I thought was an insurmountable lead. Once all the score cards were handed in, and the low 8 scores from each team were tallied, the final results were announced: Pilot Mound 328; Treherne 330; Manitou 317. The 3 town total, and in first place, was Pilot Mound at 998; 2nd was Manitou with 999; 3rd was Treherne with 1016.Harley Munro won Closest to the Pin and $52.00. All 3 Closest to the Pins were won by Pilot Mound men. No wonder they won!Pilot Mound received the old trophy, a new banner to hang in their clubhouse andcash, to which they bought a round of pop for the remaining golfers.This was the 23rd time the interclub has taken place. Manitou has 13 wins, with Pilot Mound and Treherne with 5 wins each. Specialthanks to all the staff at each course for 3 wonderful meals and golf courses in great shape.
