Three area entrants in last week’s Lake county fair, held at Crown Point, Ind., received awards in the pony show and pigeon raising events. Gustav Brumm, Route 2, Bloom township, won third place in the showmanship event of the pony show and second place for his entry in the event for ponies ridden by children, 12 years or under. Sam Seils, Route 2, Bloom township, won third place for his parade pony. In the pigeon raising contest, Ed Oldenburg, 311 Herman, Crete, won a trophy for his French Mondaine.
