Miss Ely Dellapenta and Mr and Mr 2ontino spent the week end visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Malgieri of Syracuse. Miss “Billy” Cizak recently spent the weekend in the Catskill Mrs. Miss Antonette Montilello who has been ill for the past several weeks, is very much improved, and expects to soon return to her work in the Insoles Room. . Mrs. Marion Marucca of Hill Ave., who has been home for some time, due to a minor operation on her font, has recovered sufficiently to be able to resume her work in the Fine West Stitching Room. Miss Rose Musccarella whose marriage to Gerald Holdridge will be solemnized on next Saturday, was honored at a pre-nuptial party held at the Sons of Italy Hell. Dancing was the main diversion of the evening. Speaking of the “Matrimonial Atmosphere,” which seems to have invaded the North Side Ter ritory, with a full blast, indica tions are that Louie Favie and Minnie Greco are just like that— about each other, and it won’t be long before Minnie will be picking rice out of her hair instead of daisies. Don’t forget the candy, Minnie! If you haven’t registered for the En-Joie Labor Day Field Events, don’t forget to do so, as the time is growing shorter and shorter. We want to see some of these grand prizes, adorning some of the North Side homes, so go to it folks, and “good luck” to you... , yes , Mr. ‘and Mra, *Louis ~Bianco of Hill Ave. recently entertained in honor’ of their baby daughter, Mary Lou's birthday. Dancing and games were enjoyed by all attending. Music was furnished by Alfred Baio and his musicians. Those attending were: Mary Ste fano, Louis Masucci, Mary Cor ino, Danny Salemme, Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Pero, Tessie Esposito, Jo seph Christian, Josephine Cala marino, Sam Izzo, Joseph Baio, Blanche Olevano, Pauline Rome, John Angelini, Lena Olivieri, Tony Fusco, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Fiorio, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Diorio, Bud Guarnieri, Angeline Olivieri, Tony Olivieri, Catherine Greco, Nick English, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Fa nara, Mr. and Mrs. Margadinno and son Martin, James Marga dinno, Hilda De Sanctis, Teresa Marucca, Mrs. Patrick Picciano, the North Side Gold Star Mother, has return ed, after having spent a delight ful time abroad. Balbo started the fad of Beards and now it remains for Roger Ro tunno to start something new! Have you seen the extraordinarily long, and upturned pipe, he has so proudly been displaying? Now Roger, if you'll only let your beard grow to the size of a miniature bush, you'll soon be the catch of the North Side! Cards from the Rev. Fr. Gero mia, pastor of St. Anthony, who is spending some time in Italy, have been received, stating that his va cation is being very much en joyed. Attention! All you Spaghetti Benders and Twisters! Here’s some news, I know will interest a great number of you North Siders. On Friday night “Pie” Pezzuti has a grand surprise in store for you. “Honey-boy Reed and his five en tertainers will be on hand to help you chase the blues away, and give N RA a royal welcome. And, in cidentally, of course he will give a dish, or as many dishes as you please, of his most famous spa ghetti, and if you're one of the lucky ones, you may get a taste of his “Manicure Sandwiches.” So folks, if you want a royal good time, come to Pie's place on Fri day night and I’m sure you won't regret it. Under the auspices of the Sons of Italy Lodge, the Home Associa tion, a branch of that lodge, and under their jurisdiction, will hold an ice cream social Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27. Ar rangements are in charge of an exceptionally good committee, headed by Anthony De Ninni, with the following officers also assist ing: Frank Mosca, Michael Conti, and Sam Protani. Helen Terpak and Steffie were recent dinner guests of Mrs. Henry Delos of Main St. The many friends of Mary Pa rise, a former North Side resi dent, and E-J Worker, were sad dened to hear of the sudden death of her mother in Carbondale. Our sympathy is extended to her, and other members of the family who _reside'on the North Side. Mrs. S. R. Pically of Squire at tached the funeral of Mrs. Parise in Carbondale, Pa., recently- Extensive plans are being made by the parish of St. Anthony to hold on benefit spaghetti supper to be held on Sept. 14. General ar rangements will be supervised by Ferdinand Petrilli and Clara F. Corino, assisted by numerous com mittees. Further plans will be announced very soon through these columns. There will be very im portant special meetings called at the church hall this week for the following clubs, and all members are most urgently requested to be present. St. Sebastian Club will meet on Thursday night, the Holy Name will meet on Friday night, and the Addolorata Club will meet on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Julius Bracco spent the week end in Union Center and from all reports must have had an immensely good time, for he says he enjoyed very much the B.B.L’s. Now what the B.B.L.’s are is one of the mysteries we have not been able to solve. Julie, is it a Soror ity, a fraternity, or what have you? When pressed for an ex planation, Julie just wisely smiles, and shrugs his shoulders. Now, I ask you, what would you do with a man like that? And what is this we hear about Joe Musa falling under the spell of the “Matrimonial Atmosphere,” which certainly seems to have hit the North Side an awful wallop. Things must be in pretty bad shape, when you begin to see sta tionary objects walking around the room. . Dora Pically says, the oth g night,. she,Positively.. ‘paw. chek ngine board. walk! No,’this isn’t of those riddles some smart alecks, ask you. Anyway, Dora is walking on air these days and it won't be long before the preach er will be asking her, “Wilt thou’? and then again it might be all those steps she climbed recently at Watkins Glen. Whatever fi is, Dora, just watch your step!
