OUR BO YS IN ARMYAND THEIR WORK*The Pioneer News is in receipt of communication from Sergt. B. H. He wet t, Co. M , First N. M. Infantry, Albuquerque, in which he states that t he boys are all doing nicely,although the hours of instruction are becoming longer and more regular than heretofore, and that camp Funs*on is very different from what it was when fhey first went there, more comfortable quarters having been erected recently.At camp Funsfon, there are twelvecompanies of infantry, one battery, %of field artillery and one machine gun company, in all about fifteen hundred men. The war strength would be about two thousand, hence the First regiment is several hundredshort of its strength.✓All soldiers must be up at 5:45 every morning except Sundays, and he in formation to answer roll call at 6:00. Breakfast, or “chow” at 6:20, drill from 7:30 to 11:00, chow” again at 12:00, drill again from 2:00 to 3:00, non commissioned officers school from 3:00 to 3:45, then drill to 5:15, “chow” a 5:30, retreat ceremonies 6:00 to 6:15, after which theboys are at liberty to employ thetime until 11:00 P. M. to suit themselves, but at that time they must he in tents. Drinking is strictly prohibited, strict discipline is enforced, and .most of the boys are becoming good soldiers.
