good music.Our worthy chief of police George See won the cane for the most popular man in town at the White Plains Band Festival at Lafayette Hall, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. TbjBt* was also a handsome fan offered for the most popular lady, which was won after a most spirited contest by Miss Phebe Sniffen, of Lake street. The festival, while it was a success, was not as largel y attended as it should have been, nor as successful as was anticipated.
