Buffalo, Aug. 22.A serious collision occurred on the Sandusky, Cincinnati and Mad River Rail Road yesterday. When the up express train from Cincinnati arrived at Oregon, it had to pass another train of cars switched j off the road. Through the carelessness of the tender the switch had not been replaced; the express train, therefore ran off the track on to the switch, coming violently in contact with the other train, and badly smashing six cars. Wonderful to relate, no lives were lost, but several passenger* wore hurt; among them one man had a leg broken. Oue car was cut clompletely in two, and the passengers were thrown on each side. Their escapes was most miraculous; the train was delaved six hours.What Gross Superstition*.—At Washington recently, ;i foreigner was seen cutting a peice of rope into sms!! bits, which lie distributed to his companions, who eagerly received them.
