previous to the re-opening of the Haymarket Theatre, she will appear in Liverpool.Zoological Gardens.—Monday was a grand gala day at these gardens, in honour of his Royal Highness Prince Albert’s birthday. The Licensed Victuallers selected this delightful place of resort for their annual fete, and held a Fancy Fair on the occasion, the receipts being appropriated for the benefit of their school. The weather was most propitious, and many thousands of persons visited the gardens throughout the day. Mr. Tyler, the proprietor, behaved most liberally, and in addition to the usual routine of amusements, made engagements with the celebrated Russian family Kantrowitz and Herr jHeyer, the “ magic siffieur, whose whistled melodies appeared to give very general satisfaction to the old and the young, the grave and the gay, who were present. The children of the Licensed Victuallers' School were allowed to perambulate the gardens, which imparted an Rddilionai interest to the scene. The entertainments lasted many hours, and the whole concluded with the conflagration of the City of London in 1666, and a grand display of fireworks. We should think, judging from the immense number of visitors who appeared to make their purchases freely at the stalls, that the receipts were considerable. We hope so for the sake of the estimable institution, which reflects •great credit on the Society of Licensed Victuallers.Madlle.
