Police NewsA five-year-old Greenwich youth was injured Friday, August 26, at 7:47 p m. and was taken by ambulance to Fisher-Titus Hospital in Norwalk, according to Greenwich police reports.Jerry Gibson of E. Union Street was playing with two other friends, all of whom started to cross the street. Two of the boys stopped but Jerry continued to cross the street, coming out between two parked vehicles, according to police, and was struck by a car driven bv Hollie Chaddock, 44, of W Union St., Greenwich. Chaddock attempted to swerve and stop to avoid hitting the boy, witnesses said, but the car’s front fender struck the boy.Jerry suffered a broken leg, broken elbow, a cut on the chin and many scrapes and bruises, according to his family. The hospital reports he is in satisfactory condition. He is the son of Angie and Danny Hale of E. Union St.Chaddock’s car has a dent in the fender where the boy hit. No citations were issued.
