Several Illinois residents crossed the Indiana border this month to win trophies in the 127th annual Lake county fair, held in Crown Point.South suburbanites fared well in contests as diverse as photography and horse raising, demolition derby and gourd growing.In photography, advanced competitor Maureen Neidle of Palos Hills took a first place in portrait color transparency.
