By MRS. CLARA CAPPS The linebacking corps could turn out to be Brady's strong point even though it appeared weak last spring. James Timms, an all-district perform er last year at nose guard, has moved to the left linebacker Tim Lambes, a transfer gridder from California has helped Jette’s predicament greatly. The 196-pound senior gained his eligibility only Tuesday. The Brady secondary will be well manned by the same foursome that operate on offensive—Routt, Cross, Jones and Bierman. Jette said that Dean Ellison will be Brady's punter while Routt will handle the extra point duties. Keeling is respon sible for the deep snaps. Either Barrera or Herbert will handle the kickoff chores. “It's very important for us to win this first game. I think we need the victory to establish our momentum. I feel all our hard work and enthusiasm has been pointed to this initial contest,” Jette said Wednes day. In order to beat Ballinger, Jette said the Bulldogs must move the ball “and read the split 6 defense well. Our backs and receivers must block the corners well, too.” He said Brady's defense must stop its own offense since Ballinger also operates from the Veer. “We don't know how they'll attack us.” Jette said the Bearcats are primarily a running club, but QB Gary Don McQueen (4.5 speed) was effective when he did throw. Another standout in the Ballinger backfield is Mike Albcorn, a 180-pounder with good speed. The line is held down by tackle Johnny Rodri guez, 64, 275. “We definitely know Ballin ger will be stronger. However, we think we are miles ahead of where we were at the same time last year,” Jette com mented. Brady starters include: OFFENSE Every Weekday — Quilting, Housing Authority Center, 405 East Main.
