WINFIELD — There are eight lettermen on the 1968 Winfield - Mt. Union football team which is pre paring for its opening game with Morning Sun here Sept. 13. A total of 41 boys in all classes are working out under Don Coulon, head coach. The veterans are: Seniors; John Busbee, 175, center and tackle; George Gabeline, 165, tackle; Denny Kelley, 145, halfback; Chuck Reigh ard, 175, end. Juniors: Mark Bitting, 145, guard; Dennis Nichols, 165, tackle; Steve Norder, 130, halfback; and Jim Carlson, 175, quarterback and halfback. The Wolves had a 4-5 record last year. Gone from that team are quite a few boys who played as regulars. The rest of the squad follows: Seniors: Rick Haines, 120, half back; Roger Finke, 135, end, half back; Tipper Glenn, 160, halfback; Clive Pronda, 165, tackle. Juniors: Jack Marston, 145, guard; Harold Humphrey, 145, guard; Joe Leach, 165, quarterback. Sophomores: Larry Haight, 150, end; Bob Nelson, 145, halfback; Lee Ross, 110, halfback; Bob Dunn, 145, guard; Tom Lindell, 110, halfback; Duane Johnson, 145, halfback; Neil Cornwell, 140, center; John Rasmus, 145, tackle, fullback; Fred Gibbs, 155, end; Jeff Larson, 115, quarter back; Kim Klopfenstein, 105, half back; Randy Kongable, 150, tackle; Jeff Hart, 130, ends; Craig Remick, 150, center; Mark Underwood, 140, tackle; Freshmen: Jerry Linder, 130, end; Tom Connop, 100, halfback; Lon Haight, 115, end; Ronnie Venghaus, 130, end; DeWayne Mullen, 130, end; Kurt Palar, 100, halfback; Kevin Dunsmore, 130, tackle; Lon nie Hohl, 140, tackle; Monty Thom son, 110, quarterback; Jeff Carlson, 150, guard; Randy Fye, 120, center.
