Frank Landt of Tama county was passing along the public highway in front of the residence of Mrs. Charles Novotny. , His wagon was loaded with various articles and behind trailed a mowing machine. A dog belonging to Mrs. Novotny rushed for the passing team and caused a vicious runaway apd Mr. Landt was thrown from the wagon,' falling in front of the mower, resulting in serious injuries that have « laid him up all summer, and he is reported to still be practically helpless. Suit for damages, against the owner of the dog will be brought in the October term of court, the amount asked being $28,000, including costs for medical attendance and nurse hire.
