Street Tragedy at Beaumont——White Man Asked Woman to Yield Hir Passageway, Hearmont, Texas, Aug. 2.—George Adams, a A well-known young man of this city, Nes at the hospital suffer ing with numerous serious knife cuts and stabs inflicted about midnight Saturday by 2 negrvo woman, Adams was walking down Neches Street and met two nesta women and a negro man walking abreast. Adams asked the women nearest him to view that passageway, whereupon she cursed him, ‘and Adams slapped her. The negress then bYew a pocket knife and stabbed’ and cut Adams viciously. A serious wound is under the left shoul der, where tt is thought the knife pen etrated the lungs. He was stabbed and cut in the breast, back, face ant ‘on the head. The woman was subsequently ar rested and Adams found his way into a nearby house and was taken to its apartments and today removed to the hospital.
