W. Parker about four o'clock and he wanted to buy some goods. Mr. Parker opened the front door. Just at this instance another colored man passes! the store and inquired of Will the cause of his early purchasing, lie answered that he was going to take in tho Jligginsvillo fair.About eight o’clock some one went into the store to ascertain why Mr. Parker did not show up and was horrified to find him cold in death, with bis throat eu* from ear to ear, besides a deep gashin tho head and a broken collar bono.When the report was given out a posse began a search and at this hour the murderer has not been arrested. It is tho goneral impression that when the rascal is found that he will bu hanged to the nearest limb, as Mr. Parker was a quiet and much respected gentleman.Tho murder was evidently committed with a view of rubbery, but nothing was missed from the room.In tho pocket of a vest of Mr. Perkins which hung on the wall was 830 in currency and in a shot .sack on a shelf was some 4G or 850 in silver.If there was any money in the drawer the murdorer took it, as the combination on the drawer was broken.Latlt;*r—Tlio negro was found near May view late last night and lynched outright.lie acknowledged tho murder and produced a corn knife with which tho murder was commit ted.MntDKJt AT HlfinlNSVII.I.F.Ukwhn.sville. Mo.. Aug. 30.—Higgins-ville had not calmed down front the excitement created by tho news of the murder at Mayview when the town went wild again over the murder of A. . Higgins, of this place, by W. M. Felts, also of Higginsvilie.Early last even mg W. .M. Kelts went to tho hotel kopt by A- S. Higgins, and almost without warniug stabbed him to the heart Felts then fled. Higgins lived about forty minutes.Tho murder was the result of a quarrel that took place between the two at tho fair grounds here yesterday afternoon. Iliggins was receiver of tickets at tho fair grounds and a quarrel occurred between him and FelU which resulted in the cowardly murder of tho••old gentleman.Felts is an employe of Dooley Si Son, livery stable keepers uf this city.Captain Higgins is a brother of Colonel If.
